Conejo Classic Team Pickleball Tournament

Join us for the Conejo Classic Team Pickleball Tournament hosted by Ventura County Pickleball Club (VCPC) and Conejo Recreation and Park District (CRPD) at Rancho Conejo Playfield in Newbury Park.  This is an MiLP-style Team Tournament. The format will be a 4-Person Team Format and each team will consist of two (2) females and two (2) males.

If you do not have your full team yet, please send us your name, DUPR ID # and age to tournaments@venturacountypickleballclub.com.  If you have one partner that you play with often, that will work to help us put together a team.  For players without a team or partner, we be will compiling a list of players who similarly do not have a team and will be matching up teams in advance of the tournament.  For the tournament, you will be playing with the same 4 person team the entire time.   You will need to have your full team to register for the tournament.

The tournament is scheduled to start at 8:00 a.m., and go until approximately 2:00 p.m., plus additional time for awards.

*DUPR Divisions 12 & 14 will play on Saturday (see below DUPR Divisions)

*DUPR Divisions 16 & 18 will play on Sunday   (see below DUPR Divisions)

Important: ALL players who register are required to have an email address and DUPR ID number. For all team competitions, the player who registers the team must have email addresses and DUPR ID #s for ALL players. Registration without this information may delay your entry.

• Cost is $200/team ($50/person) for Round Robin competition.
• PLEASE check your rating for each entry prior to registering for the tournament.  
• This tournament will be run on the Swish App which has a Team Format Option.

Snacks, water and Twisted Meats will be available throughout the day.

Court monitors will be assigned to the courts.

Your entire team will stick together to cheer each other on. 

 A little more about MiLP-style play:  Each bracket will consist of 6 teams max, playing 5 matches of (1) women's doubles, (1) men's doubles, and (2) mixed doubles games.  This equates to 20 games/team over approximately 5 hours. Each player will play 10 games in total.  This sounds like a lot of games, but over a 5 hour period with breaks while your other teammates are playing, this equates to 1 game every 30 minutes.Remember, this is Rally Scoring played to 21, so it moves quickly:  

• Rally scoring is simple: a point is scored after every rally, regardless of which team is serving. This version of pickleball rewards success after each point. There is no Second Server in Rally Scoring. The team starting the game will designate a Starting Server who will always serve from the Even or Right side of the court when their score is even.
• The winning point must be won by the serving team, hence a temporary point freeze happens. 
• There will be no other point freeze for this tournament, except for the aforementioned winning point.  
• Both the volley serve and drop serve are allowed.  

All games in a match will be played on the same court.  The dedicated pickleball courts will be used for this tournament. After a match is completed, you will rotate courts to play the next match.  

There will be no playoffs for this tournament.   

The format of the dreambreaker match (tie breaker) is to be determined. 

 DUPR18 (The team’s aggregate DUPR must not exceed 18.30)
**Maximum individual player DUPR cannot exceed 5.10 to play in DUPR 18
DUPR16 (The team’s aggregate DUPR must not exceed 16.30)
**Maximum individual player DUPR cannot exceed 4.60 to play in DUPR 16
DUPR14 (The team’s aggregate DUPR must not exceed 14.30)
**Maximum individual player DUPR cannot exceed 4.10 to play in DUPR 14
DUPR12 (The team’s aggregate DUPR must not exceed 12.30)
**Maximum individual player DUPR cannot exceed 3.60 to play in DUPR 12

 NR - Non Rated Players will be assigned a rating based on the average rating of the division they sign up for. For example, if an NR player joins a DUPR 14 division, they are assigned a 3.500 rating.  This assigned rating is then factored into the team's overall DUPR aggregate, which must stay within the allowed limit.
